The Junior Production Engineer plays a key role in supporting Advanced Navigation to meet its quality targets. The Junior Production Engineer will work closely with both the Production Team and Engineering Teams to ensure new and existing products are managed and transitioned effectively.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Complete high-quality electronics assembly tasks (including calibration, soldering and cable assemblies etc.)
  • Complete basic investigations into production failures and production delays.
  • Report results.
  • Liaise with R&D and propose solutions to resolve production issues
  • Complete basic repairs of defective or returned products
  • Support the Advanced Navigation Production Engineering team and R&D to identify and drive continuous improvement in the Sydney Production Team.
  • Complete Verification & Validation testing of mechanical and electronic parts and report results
  • Deliver basic assembly training to Production Team Technicians;
  • Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Electronics or Mechanical Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-2 years in a similar technical role
  • Experience in electronic hardware assembly and general lab equipment
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics
  • Assemble, adjust, calibrate or align electronic and electro-mechanical devices in accordance with written or verbal instructions
  • An ability to test electronic modules, record results and analyze results and determine needs for adjustment and calibration
  • A focus on high quality, precision and attention to detail and a a willingness to learn the products in a specialist industry
  • Strong attention to detail - Writing and following complex instructions
  • Strong communications skills - Need to be able to read and write clearly, follow verbal instructions and complete technical reports
