We’re looking for a passionate and talented Content Strategist that has a strong background in design strategy and in creating user-centered content that is clear and accessible.
At Afterpay, Content Strategists are a key part of the Design team, and we believe that the best product solutions are created through collaborative, iterative effort. Good content informs good design, and vice versa. As such, you’ll be a key design partner in the entire end-to-end product creation process—from ideation to shipping. You’ll be working closely with designers and product managers to drive the strategy for business-critical projects, with researchers to test and iterate content/design solutions, and with developers to build out products and features that end up in the hands of our users.
The role requires a seasoned Content Strategist who can work autonomously and who has experience turning conceptual thinking into tangible content/design solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong design point of view and a willingness to participate in constructive dialogue that results in stronger content/design solutions.
In the end, what you’ll create is not just thoughtfully crafted content that is user-centric and accessible for a global audience, but you’ll also create strong, strategic frameworks that create the foundation for that content.
What you’ll be doing
. Work closely with product and business partners to discover and define customer and merchant pain points and opportunities for product enhancement / innovation
. Partner with designers, researchers, and other stakeholders on the end-to end product creation process—from ideation to shipping
. Solve complex Design challenges through the participation in journey mapping, research sessions, critique sessions
. Craft content that centers the user experience, with a specific focus on language that is clear, accessible, and human
. Hand-off validated product content to development teams and oversee implementation
. Help develop content standards for a quickly evolving discipline
. 4-5 years experience as a Product Content Strategist
. Experience working autonomously and leading independent initiatives
. Strong design point-of-view and comfort with challenging content and design opinions
. Experience participating in / facilitating design research, design sprints & ideation sessions
. Ability to turn conceptual messaging ideas into tangible content solutions
. Ability to communicate ideas and content decisions effectively
. Experience building out/contributing to content standards, including creating voice and tone principles and scalable messaging frameworks
. Experience working hands-on with designers, engineers, and product managers in a fast-paced environment
. Experience using Figma or Sketch is a plus
