Who we are looking for
To power our growth, we are hiring a superstar to come in and play a hand in taking our merchandise strategy to the next level. You are a self-starter, analytical, thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for furniture, retail and eCommerce.
The successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical skills, a hunger for data and delving into the nuts and bolts, exceptional multi-tasking ability, a passion for product, and a positive can-do approach.
You will undertake the following responsibilities
What success looks like
In the first month, you will work closely with the Category Manager to set up a weekly reporting and competitor review framework to facilitate a clear review of promotional activity, new product launches, competitor and product trends and ongoing category results. Taking on some smaller projects around merchandise website improvements you will work confidently with data to improve key functionality.
In your second month, you will have established relationships with key members of the business and will begin to take ownership and execute the promotional activity. You will begin to oversee the launch of all new lines, ensuring data integrity is maintained.
You will be reporting to the Category Manager (CM) who encompasses 6+ years of experience in Brand Management, Buying and Category Management. As a dynamic, vibrant and customer-focused Category Manager with a background in merchandise management and operations, they have led the successful delivery of category and brand plans for both local and globally recognised brands. Possessing experience within brand strategy, category plans (development and execution), new product launch campaigns, buying, event marketing and PR events, all underpinned with the understanding that building relationships, both internally and externally, enables success and drives a strong commercial outcome. The CM embodies a collaborative and nurturing leadership style.
