Your Challenge:

In this role you will be responsible for providing technical accounting expertise and in-depth analytical oversight of the business’ operations. This is a hands on, collaborative role that provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, Australian tech company and would best suit someone who is seeking an opportunity to influence and make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is for an experienced Reporting Manager. The role requires someone who has strong technical accounting experience, has a high attention to detail, who is process driven, has systems experience and is highly analytical.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • The preparation of statutory financial reporting requirements including the preparation of the related financial reports and cash flow statements.   
  • External audit deliverables. 
  • Ensuring that all technical accounting matters are correctly reflected in the trial balance. 
  • Being a stakeholder in the assessment, improvement and automation of processes and systems.  Key point of contact for Finance automation and liaising with the tech / development team.
  • The administration of Financial Force including posting journals, reviewing the log of changes made, and also being the Financial Force champion for the team. 
  • The preparation of monthly reporting including the trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow with insights, variance analysis and commentary.
  • Reviewing and approving balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the financial accountants. 
  • Prepare the remaining balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to: 
  • Intangible asset capitalisation and amortisation 
  • Employee share option and share based payment expense calculations 
  • Annual leave and long service leave schedule, including NPV calculations   
  • The weekly payroll review, approval and posting into the general ledger. 
  • Assisting and directing the finance team with ATO and tax advisor queries in relation to FBT, GST, income tax, and the tax return.   
  • Managing Finance team of 3 direct reports, two Financial Accountants and an Assistant AP Officer  
  • Assisting CFOO and FC with analysis and adhoc projects as required.

Your CV:

  • Requirements:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar position. 
    • Approximately 10 years solid accounting skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment  
    • CA or CPA required; listed experience preferred 
    • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce with CA qualifications.
  • Technical Experience
    • Advanced excel  skills. 
    • Strong technical accounting skills with experience in preparing technical accounting reports in accordance with AASBs. 
    • Experience with systems improvement, ERP implementation, and best process initiatives. 
    • Experience with systems automation and communication of requirements with the tech/ development team.
    • Experience with multiple data reporting systems essential; Salesforce/Financialforce and Looker preferred (or similar systems).
