The Opportunity:
 
We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Buyer - Indirect Materials to support all activities related to indirect materials management and purchasing in relation to the engineering programs and production needs. This ranges from sourcing, ordering, reviewing the delivery commits, planning and validating material availability. 

Inside the Job:

  • Purchasing responsible for indirect materials.
  • Sourcing to support engineering and production needs.
  • Consolidating supplier bases & purchases
  • Negotiating best price and payment term with suppliers.
  • Work with finance to support payment to suppliers.
  • Work with materials planner and inventory controller to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
  • Maintenance of  materials master data
  • Supplier relationship management

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in supplier development and sourcing.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and able to multitask.
  • Good communication, presentation and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Proficient in ERP systems with an understanding of manufacturing industry.
  • Good business acumen and interpersonal skills to work in Cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification with a Procurement & Supply Chain focus.
  • Must be efficient in proactively identifying areas of potential supply concerns, keeping in mind capacity constraints, shortages and communicates analysis/recommendations to all parties impacted.

Desirable

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the buying/sourcing role.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and capability to self-prioritize workload.
  • Skilled in MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
