Founded in 2013, Moula is an Australian fintech dedicated to backing good business. Providing business finance solutions across lending and payments, we empower businesses to access capital without using assets. We've developed a unique platform that will analyse a business' data, making the process simple, fast and friendly. With our ‘heads and hearts’ approach, we’re focused on combining data, automation and tech, with a personal, human experience.

As we continue to scale, we’re creating exciting opportunities. Come and join our super talented team and find out why we were recognised as a LinkedIn Top Startup (2019).

Moula Pay is our rapidly growing payment solution that offers merchants the ability to offer extended payment terms to their customers while avoiding the payment delays and complex costs associated with traditional accounts receivable processes.

The Senior Business Development role will be responsible for building our enterprise level Merchant base, through engagement of your existing and new networks, discovery of merchant needs and requirements and delivery of tailored solutions to senior executive level decision makers.

Success will be based on your ability to win major merchant partners while ensuring seamless onboarding and activation to drive ongoing sales activity

Key responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the Moula merchant channel through clear articulation and demonstration of the commercial value of Moula Pay, creating excitement and enthusiasm among new enterprise-level prospects in order to convert sales and drive new revenue for the business
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline, open new doors, nurture opportunities and manage and execute on the big deals independently
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process through to contract negotiation and deal closure
  • Be naturally collaborative and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing feedback to ensure messaging and sales collateral is relevant and engaging and product features meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the SME market and broader business/economic/competitive landscape to enhance your ability to anticipate client requirements

We're looking for a well-rounded individual who;

  • 5+ years of digital/financial enterprise sales experience and a demonstrated direct C-suite network to be able to activate ‘direct’ enterprise sales from the start
  • Proven experience building strategic relationships and successfully selling enterprise-level Fintech solutions to C-suite and senior level decision makers
  • Self-directed - you take ownership of your role and have an "I've got this" attitude

Here are the specifics of what we’re after

  • Sound understanding of accounting and/or finance principles
  • Demonstrated excellence in organisational, time management, and planning abilities
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills including the ability to quickly engage and create strong and lasting rapport with customers
  • Experience working with a CRM database. Salesforce preferred
  • A willingness to learn and take ownership of your responsibilities
  • loads of initiative and self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast and ever-changing environment
  • Highly self-motivated and confident, with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition

We don’t know it all. We’re not looking for someone who does. But you’ll need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up, be curious, and keep pushing until you’ve found the boundary. We don’t believe in perfect, but we do believe in testing, learning, and asking more questions than any of us had thought of to start with.

We’re a quirky bunch, we love a good laugh, and we’re not afraid to face a challenge head on. No two of us are alike, so to fit in, you’ll need a good dose of different.
