Our long-term has some unknowns in it. That is just the way that it is at this stage and every staxer will be comfortable with those unknowns and help us face into them. In so, we are currently seeking a Team Tech Lead to join our new Billing and Distribution engineering team in a 6 month short-term contract.
The short-term Team Tech Lead will fill a critical role in our engineering team. The role is responsible for driving key technical decisions, mentoring and coaching our engineers, and working with Product Owners to define priorities as we build customer value. We are looking for an engineer that can bring their wealth of knowledge to deliver on our product goals while building the internal people and process capability in our team.

We are building out an entirely new system that will aggregate and calculate billing data across hundreds of millions of data points. As part of this company wide initiative, the ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of engineering, delivery, and people skills to help us take advantage of this growth. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to contribute to a new service, have input in the technologies and frameworks, and help our team grow to match customer demands.

Our roles are also open to interstates who are based in either NSW, QL or SA who don't mind the remote work.

As part of the team, you will be:

  • Help shape our team’s architectural decision
  • Work with the product owner to help prioritise and deliver on product goals
  • Collaborate with other engineering leads and engineering teams to build our culture.
  • Take ownership of the development rituals and improving our processes.
  • Mentor other team members on engineering practises and culture.
  • Commit to code to help us deliver on team objectives.
  • Take part in a rotation responding to incidents and outages.
  • Measure of success will look like:

  • 5+ years experience in developing applications to the highest standard.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and maintaining AWS data pipelines and data solutions.
  • Has a strong software development pedigree to ensure we are shipping high quality software.
  • Takes a coaching mentality towards developing capabilities within the team
  • Has a DevOps/SRE mindset (i.e. you build it, you run it)
  • Builds resilient distributed systems and appreciates the importance of observability.
  • Has a strong understanding of Golang.
