Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Do you love staying ahead of the growth curve and experimenting with new technologies and environments? Get on board as an Atlassian Senior Engineer in our greenfields Network Fabric Integrations team.

As a member of our Network Fabric Integrations team, you’ll help hyper-scale Atlassian by building extensibility and integrations into the Atlassian PaaS’ Envoy-proxy-based Network Fabric (aka Service Mesh) used by the thousands of Microservices that power Atlassian’s products and services. You’ll be exploring and deciding on new technologies, implementing proof of concepts and bringing them into production. You’ll design, build and support solutions that will save time and speed up Atlassian developers by extending the capabilities they get from the PaaS and allowing them to create more extensions themselves.

If you have great creative problem-solving skills, embrace DevOps and You-Build-It-You-Run-It, and have a real passion for teamwork, then come and help us build cloud-native solutions that operate at a global scale.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Strong Development skills using programming languages like Golang, Rust, Java, Typescript and Python
  • Experience breaking through ambiguity associated with a greenfields team, and using data to drive your decision making
  • Experience with TDD, and CI/CD tools and practices
  • Good understanding of upper-layer networking fundamentals: HTTP proxying, authentication, authorization, ...
  • Experience with developing API, contracts and delineation points between systems
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to thrive on teamwork
  • We'd be super excited if you have:

  • Experience with Envoy Proxy (or similar), configuring it, operating it and extending it with filters
  • Experience with WASM and gRPC
  • Experience with Envoy’s xDS API
  • Experience contributing to Open-Source projects like Envoy
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks such as CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Experience building, automating, and maintaining AWS infrastructure such as VPC, EC2, xLB, CloudFront, ...
  • Experience with observability tools and challenges, especially related to shared hypervisor environments
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • More about our benefits

Whether you work in an office or a distributed team, Atlassian is highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.
