As the Lead Designer in our Visualisation space, you will work very closely and report into our Head of Design to translate and clarify complex ideas into visual form. You will partner with the Principal Experience Architect, other Lead Designers across the Product Group, and the Design Leadership team - to communicate the vision for the Product Portfolio.
What you'll do:
Partner with leadership team and key stakeholders to help develop the best approach to communicating a concept or model, then bring it all the way from design through development to productionCreate storyboards, infographics (static and animated), hero shots, data visualisations, system diagrams and other artefacts which explain or clarify concepts around Atlassian productsDetermine effective formats and contribute as part of other communication efforts - including being part of conceptualisation, design of graphics / animations etc, as well as a smooth handover to other partnersPrepare proof-of-concepts as necessary to convey opportunities and gaps (as well as by the example, demonstrate the impact of visualisation)Create assets, layouts, comps, and motion prototypes to communicate design intent to internal stakeholders and development teamsWork closely with other CX team members including Content Designers, Researchers and Design Ops to ensure the visualisation work is well synced with related effortsEducate team members and Atlassian employees alike in the effective visual communication - acting as an important example of how to "show and not just tell"Offer advice and guidance to other designers on best in class methods, tools and examples for visualisation
What you'll bring:
8+ years of Design experienceExcellence in all forms of visual design (including typography) for both for functional graphics (data visualisation, flow diagrams etc) as well as being able to inspire with tone and craftExcellence in facilitation of design discussions as way to both inform creating the visualisation and/or to get to clarity on the problem at handProficient in motion design, and is able to create sophisticated animated visualisations - as well as to spec for execution if handing over to an agency or other partnerProficient in interaction design and prototyping to the level where they can seamlessly include those assets and ideas in the visualisationUnderstanding of Design Systems, and able to specify how to create or extend componentsUnderstanding of core concepts in information architecture
