Our mission is to create calmer organizations. With Pyn, employees get more of the messages they need, and fewer of the ones they don’t. We do this by providing companies with tools for targeted, tailored communications.
Our founders are Jon Williams and Joris Luijke. Jon previously co-founded the technology company Culture Amp. Joris helped scale the culture of Atlassian and Squarespace as their Head of People. Pyn is backed by Accel; an early investor in Facebook, Slack, Dropbox, and many more great companies.
Pyn originates from Sydney, Australia. However, we have employees and customers across the globe. While we work remotely, we still love to get together if and when we can. Ideally our employees have good overlap with the Australian Eastern or Pacifictime zones.
As Chief of Staff you’ll wear many hats. You could prepare a board meeting, review a legal document, respond to a customer, or fine-tune our onboarding process. Perhaps all in the same day.
You’re somehow able to fight fires, whilst at the same time build the operations that put the fires out for good. The type of work you’ll get involved in will vary, and the unknown is part of the fun. One thing is for sure, you will experience every facet of building a technology company.
A key part of building a startup is being able to execute, and then scale when the time is right. You will be the person making sure our operations achieve this.
The Chief of Staff role is the perfect springboard to founding a startup in the future, or building a career as a COO or C-Suite leader.

We also realize “Chief of Staff” is a novel title, and it’s unlikely you’ve had the Chief of Staff title in the past. Perhaps you have a Finance, Legal, or Business Administration background. Or you may have a background in Technology. As this role covers so many bases, we recognize it’s your curiosity and aptitude that will make you successful.
