About the role

The PR Specialist role is responsible for growing publicity and building relationships with influencers and brand partners, driving traffic across Finder’s categories and supporting member growth activities.

In addition to writing newsworthy and compelling pitches and press releases, you’ll be an ideas person who thrives on the challenge of securing media opportunities that get Finder noticed for the right reasons. 

You will also be adept at developing content in collaboration with influencers and digital content creators as well as nurturing strategic partnerships with brands.

You’ll also be a fantastic people person, who enjoys mentoring junior staff and assisting in their career development.


  • To strategise, plan and execute story and content ideas, campaigns and projects, designed to improve the financial literacy of Australian audiences and drive traffic to the Finder website and Finder app.
  • Pitch and secure corporate and brand PR story ideas that position Finder as a thought leader and progressive organisation
  • Coordinate industry collaborations and work with external stakeholders on joint reports and panels 
  • Lead relationships with prospective brand partners on B2B and B2C PR and marketing opportunities to support member growth
  • Collate Finder submissions on public policy issues important to Finder and our customers
  • Active involvement in the execution of the Finder Awards program, which includes the Green Awards, Innovation Awards, Product and Customer Satisfaction Awards

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Extensive experience in Public Relations, ideally with some exposure to the finance space
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail, from developing sharp press releases to credible award submissions
  • Experience in managing relationships with ambassadors/influencers from briefings to content creation
  • Strong understanding and experience in both consumer and corporate communications
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment
  • Motivated and proactive with an enthusiasm and willingness to support ad hoc projects and help reach team goals
  • Excellent analytical skills to review data effectively and accurately to find interesting story ideas
  • Understanding of digital marketing disciplines, including SEO, recognising opportunities across social media and digital platforms
