Overview of Position

Our software engineering team is focused on building web and mobile native applications for our next-generation SaaS robotics command & control platform. You will be participating in all phases of the software development life-cycle and be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of our scaling solution. We believe that automation and developer empowerment is the key to creating systems that are reliable and secure by default. We use a collection of open-source technologies; whichever provides the right solution and seamless integrations for that piece of the puzzle. Some of the key technologies we leverage include Docker (for code packaging and deployment), Kubernetes (for container orchestration), and Terraform (to control our cloud infrastructure).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build a future where autonomous vehicles do awesome tasks to make the world better, save lives, and help establish a strong commercial future for CGC and related products with a focus on simplification over-complication
  • Understand the needs of  the people who use the systems you build
  • Anticipate future problems, without over-engineering the present
  • Share your expertise with others, and work hard to learn new things to make sure that experience is worth sharing.
  • Deliver the tools, best practises, and infrastructure that enables our developers to do their best work while becoming a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
  • Design and deploy monitoring and alerting solution while making sure our environments are up and running at all times
  • Propose and implement cloud architecture solutions to help us save money
  • Simplify the role of developers by abstracting the complexity of the architecture behind processes automation
  • Requirements:

  • Experience solving difficult problems with a scripting language (e.g. Bash, Python) in a Linux environment
  • Experience writing and maintaining software applications and be familiar with Java 8
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration (specifically Kubernetes) is essential 
  • Experience of working with AWS is essential
  • Experience with configuration management systems (e.g. Terraform, Cloud-Formation, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)
  • Experience with end to end management of cloud-deployed applications
