As Head of Funding, you will have full management responsibility for the funding operations and capital allocation of the Brighte Capital business, reporting into the Chief Corporate Development Officer.
The role will plan and manage the marketing and execution of funding for the business, including debt financing transactions (warehousing and term issuance and any whole loan sales) to support the lending business and also be heavily involved in the raising of equity capital for the business.
An important facet of the role is having responsibility for maintaining and developing strong relationships with our external debt and equity funding partners, other external counter parties and internal stakeholders, maintaining a culture of transparency, professionalism, engagement, and high standards.
What you'll do
Establish an Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) to oversee the effective management of Brighte’s balance sheet within the risk appetite set by the Board Prepare ALCO reports and insights against risk tolerances, covenants and scenario analysis On a day to day basis, management of assets and liabilities on a forward-looking basis to ensure sufficient liquidity and funding capacity · Put in place interest rate swaps to ensure the value at risk is maintained within tolerances Maintain and strengthen existing funding facilities across maturitiesHave responsibility for Treasury functions via the Asset & Liability Committee, including: Cash forecasting and liquidity management, Funding strategy and Asset Liability Management, ABS and warehouse transaction planning and execution Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors to manage new investor pipeline or to develop new loan funding programsWork with product and engineering teams to design and launch funding of new products. Work closely with Product, Credit & Finance to support product pricing decisions, commercial expectations, and assist in the design of new lending productsWork closely with Technology & Finance to ensure the loan management & funding system is optimised in accordance with debt facility requirementsWorking closely with Finance to ensure hedges are correctly measured and recordedProvide input into the annual budget process and ongoing forecastingWorking closely with Credit and Portfolio Risk to regularly monitor and discuss changes to credit policy and parametersBuild and maintain strong relationships with critical third parties such as rating agencies, trustees, external legal counsel. Challenge senior management on all aspects of short term and long-term risk as required
Who you are
At least 10 years’ experience in a senior financial service treasury role or closely aligned function (e.g., law firm, rating agency, trustee company) and ABS/RMBS transaction experience. A Tertiary Degree/Post-Grad qualification in a relevant discipline. Be self-motivated, driven, highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent in analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to drive results in individuals/teams. Experience from similar roles at Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Institutional Banking or from the treasury team of a large corporate. A deep understanding of Market Risk is preferred. Direct experience in Financial Institutions or Debt Markets products (including Securitisation) will be valued. Awareness of regulatory environment including Basel III and APRA requirements is desirable.
