Overview of Position
Working directly for the Head of Production you will interface between R&D and the Production Technicians. You will also be accountable for ensuring the production and assembly of complex electronics equipment as well as the inspection and re-calibration of product returning from the field for service. Our Production Engineer forms part of a highly skilled and knowledgeable team playing a crucial role within the business.
Be the technical expert for the Production Team and provide Production expertise to the R&D team;Be the authority for the receipt of new products & production requirements into Production;Inspect first Production batch of new or modified components or assemblies (V&V);Drive and coordinate Production Change, including reviewing change proposals, reviewing design changes and implementing process change;Assess production failures for root cause and determine repair methods and corrective actions; Implement repairs or provide instruction to a technician and report findings;Assess customer returned products to determine failure mode and propose repair methods; Complete repairs or provide detailed instructions for a technician to complete. Document findings and prepare customer reports;Identify systemic Production quality issues, troubleshoot and advise the Production Team on technical process improvements;Provide production expertise to R&D for high level assembly process design;Complete detailed assembly process design and ensure suitable QA/QC systems are in place;Finalise Work Instructions from early R&D draft and complete assembly training of Production Team Technicians;Verify Production Jigs and Equipment designed by R&D before production acceptance;Provide input to Design for Manufacture reviews during product development;Growing & developing with the Company as Advanced Navigation continues to evolve; Immersing yourself into the team & wider organisation to develop an understanding of how each role & team all contribute to our strategic vision.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor of Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering5-10 years of experience in a similar or another complex engineering industryCapable of upskilling quickly to develop deep technical capabilities in a challenging technical domainAble to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including R&D Engineers and Production TechniciansV&V verification and validation experience as well as experience with PCB electronics design, testing and troubleshootingStrong, efficient communicator, written and verbalWell developed, structured problem solving and debugging skillsStrong attention to detail with an ability to provide accurate technical documentationExperience planning and scheduling your own workBe highly motivated with an energetic, responsive and decisive dispositionStrong knowledge of WHS practices & proven high standard of attention to detail, time management and “follow-through”.
