About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Company as the FinOps Coordinator.  The role will be based in Sydney and will report into the Financial Controller.  This is a Finance generalist role, with the main area of responsibility managing the payroll administration for all of our countries globally. In addition to payroll, you will provide support to your Finance and Business Operations colleagues and to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, playing a key role within the company.


What your day to day will look like:

  • Manage the payroll administration and processing for all countries. In-house for Australia, NZ, UK and US, working in conjunction with outsourced accountants for Canada, South Africa and Philippines.
  • Ensure data provided to accounting systems is of a very high quality for monthly reporting. 
  • Processing new joiner and leaver calculations and paperwork (onboarding & offboarding)
  • Be the primary point of contact for all staff on payroll related questions and take responsibility for timely responses. 
  • Manage the monthly outsourced accountant meeting agendas
  • Own and streamline the expense claims management process.
  • Month-end and year end tasks including balance sheet reconciliation 
  • Provide administrative support to Finance & Business Operations colleagues on Projects & Audits, where required.


What you need to succeed:

  • Proficiency using the tools of the trade: Xero, Excel - intermediate, Google Suite - Sheets, Google Docs, Cloud based - Financial Reporting Systems.
  • Experience in an accounting / finance environment, ideally with 2 years payroll processing experience
  • The ability to adopt a hands-on approach to problem solving, juggling multiple tasks and can be relied upon to work autonomously.
  • Proven interpersonal and organisation skills.
  • Ability to proactively solve problems with solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • High attention to detail, and time management skills is a must.
  • Tertiary qualified in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
