THE ICONIC Buyers travel to fashion capitals around the globe to source the best brands and research and predict the up-and-coming trends for our customers. This team is creative, analytical and absolutely customer-focused. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Private Label Junior Buyer to help us evolve the landscape of Australian e-commerce and fashion. If you are a highly skilled Junior Private Label Buyer, then please read on!

What's involved...

  • Product and design development in line with brand strategy, end use and target customer persona
  • Select, develop, and source fabrications, colours, trims etc.
  • Briefing of Tech packs / development to GT
  • Establishes sourcing, fabric and print direction by visiting the relevant markets/shows/fairs and print/fabric houses
  • Regularly attends fit sessions and uses technical ability to ensure best fit is achieved and approve final samples with GT
  • Approve all details of final product in line with original design brief
  • Works closely with ethical sourcing team 
  • Negotiate contracts to meet company targets.
  • Maintain strong, commercial supplier relationships with regular communication.
  • Review weekly product lifecycle with Buying & Planning team for replenishment or clearance opportunity.
  • Manage department OTB and maintain an accurate brand plan.
  • Analyse and present weekly trade with actions.
  • Analyse and present in monthly SWOTS prior to WSSI reforecast with actions.
  • Lead Monthly 'Go To Market' buying input in Marketing calendar.
  • Seasonal SWOT presented to key stakeholders.
  • Always on trend analysis, reviewing brand and category shifts and action accordingly.
  • Seasonal Trend research and planning

About you… 

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with a large SKU count
  • Well established contacts in the Womenswear category, Australian experience highly desirable
  • Experience in building commercially successful ranges with a customer focused approach
  • An acute eye for current and future trends with the ability to back your judgement
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Commercial analytical/reporting and numeracy skills
