Hydrus, our revolutionary underwater robot will help restore oceans to a flourishing state. You will find our navigation systems in the autonomous Indy race cars and thousands of Plus AI autonomous trucks. We help farmers adopt autonomous farming equipment and assist in various fields of research. Switching to software, our cloud-based drone management platform helps patrol beaches for emergency rescues and shark tracking. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the PR and Communications Manager will play a critical role in all media and communications initiatives highlighting our exciting range of deep technology innovations across land, air, sea and space.

Based in Sydney, the role will have a global lens with opportunities in Australia, United States and Europe. The ideal candidate will have experience working with technology products and solutions, excellent media relations skills, a creative thinker and an interest in disruptive technology. 

Working closely with the Head of Communications, you will:

  • Plan and implement communication and media initiatives highlighting our exciting navigation, robotic and software product range
  • Actively seek out earned media opportunities to drive press coverage across Australia, United States and Europe
  • Analyse consumer insights to translate them into compelling stories
  • Draft localised messaging and material to amplify announcements, product launches, partnerships and campaign activities across digital and media channels
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media and other external stakeholders
  • Follow and monitor the news to keep up to date with media agenda
  • Manage requests from journalists and respond accordingly 
  • Develop diverse press lists targeting Australian and International media across unique sectors
  • Coordinate external speaking engagements and public-facing demo opportunities
  • Prepare communication material and briefings for key spokespeople
  • Support brand reputation through communication strategy and crisis management
  • Work closely with the marketing team to support company growth and brand awareness
  • Review media coverage and compile reports, as required
  • Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years experience in PR, media, marketing, journalism or a related field
  • Experience working with technology companies (preferably B2B)
  • Excellent communication, written and relationship-building skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Self starter: thrives on taking ownership of initiatives
  • Creative thinker and a team player 
  • PR/Communications agency experience is nice to have but not essential
  • Experience with global markets (outside of Australia) is nice to have but not essential
  • Experience in graphic design is nice to have but not essential
