To support our growth, Swyftx is searching for a Technical Lead- Site Reliability Engineer to take ownership of infrastructure and implement best practices in regards to Performance, Reliability, Availability and Scalability (PRAS) of Swyftx's cryptocurrency trading platform and it's 300,000+ users.

About the opportunity:

The Technical Lead - Site Reliability Engineer will bring a strong combination of hands-on technical expertise coupled with people and leadership skills. You will be highly competent in one or more of the following tools: Ansible, Puppet or Helm while working in a cloud environment. You will coach and mentor a growing team of engineers while participating in the technical aspects of SRE work. You will be responsible for providing continuous improvements in a scaling organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively build resilience into IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Set service level objectives, service level agreements and service level indicators with the SRE team.
  • Project planning and task prioritization to ensure SRE team members can create features and functions that proactively monitor the health of new features from the backlog.
  • Provide continued improvement to the platform infrastructure through automation and standardisation.
  • Help maintain the skills matrix for the SRE team and create a culture of learning.
  • Create clear career paths and manage the execution for your team members while coaching and mentoring engineers.
  • Ensure that all of our core services are up to date and security patched.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation with our engineering teams.
  • Work in a cloud environment with AWS stack.

About you:

  • Several years of people management experience.
  • Deep expertise in DevOps tooling (Ansible, Helm, Puppet).
  • Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Cloudformation).
  • Expertise with Continuous Integrate/Delivery and Dependency Management (Buildkite, GitLab or other container based pipeline solutions).
  • Strong experience in scripting: NodeJS, GoLang and Python are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing and CDN's.
  • Knowledge of SecOps.
  • Experience with NGINX, Apache, or similar web servers.
  • Experience with using Agile software development methods in a DevOps environment.
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent.
