We are looking for a Development Manager, to join our team in Australia to help support teams that work on the Maropost Commerce Cloud product. 

The Position 

Maropost is seeking to engage a Development Manager, with experience in both people and technical management positions, to support multiple cross functional development teams to deliver the organisation's Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud platform. 

The right candidate will need to be a great communicator and be able to interact well with the team and the business. Someone who is confident and decisive yet humble, engaging and able to lead from the front. Someone who has an understanding of the industry and that is excited about technology, and the ways in which the business and its customers can benefit from it. 

What you’ll be responsible for: 

People Operations for the Department 

  • Ensure team satisfaction (through various feedback and coaching checkpoints)
  • Proactively Coach people to solve their own challenges and help them along their growth journey
  • Providing feedback consistently throughout the year to avoid "review shock"
  • Providing training/support
  • Probation reviews
  • Salary reviews
  • Team coordination
  • Creates and inclusive team environment, showing concern for success and well-being
  • Is proactive and results-oriented
  • Support career development and discusses performance
  • Collaborates across the company
  • Is a strong decision maker

Provide the right environment 

  • Tools/equipment/licenses
  • Innovation opportunities (eg. hackathons)

Managing risk

  • Maintaining standards and good practices
  • Responsible for proper documentation of processes and strategies

The successful candidate will possess: 

  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Belief that a people first culture is the right approach
  • A continuous improvement, growth and experimentation mindset
  • Extensive experience supporting multiple cross functional teams through the development lifecycle to deliver continuous value at scale
  • Being a leadership multiplier/enabler
  • Be able to identify people's passion and potential and help them grow both personally and professionally
  • Abilities to support our teams operationally but also strategic abilities to help the team and department develop and grow
  • Demonstrable involvement or engagement with the Development and Agile community

Although this is not strictly a technical role, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded: 

  • Exposure to a variety of languages web development languages
  • Exposure to cloud architected applications
  • Exposure to AWS or GCP
  • Supporting teams who are “breaking down the monolith”
  • Experience with OKRs or experience in solving alignment and measuring impactful successes
