At Noggin we solve big problems and make a real difference to the world around us by helping create more resilient communities. Our software supports a vast range of user cases including evacuations of major cities, counter-terrorism, national security, responses to floods and corporate continuity / enterprise resilience.

Of course, this means that quality assurance is an absolutely critical function here at Noggin and we're currently looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help us ensure that we're delivering the best quality software solutions in the market.

What does it take to be a Noggin?

You're tertiary qualified plus you've had practical Test Automation experience in commercial testing environments, ideally testing complex cloud/web-based applications. You will have a solid working knowledge of Automation Testing with various JavaScript based testing frameworks (API, UI & Mobile) as well as experience working with Automation testing tools such as WebdriverIO/Cypress/Appium/SuperTest/Mocha. You will also have strong experience working in Agile testing environments, using Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence and have a good understanding of Performance Testing Methodologies.

You work well in a team environment and you're comfortable voicing your views when you believe that the quality of the product will be impacted and be open to receiving feedback on how you can improve your own processes and skills.

What does success look like in this role?

Within your first 6 weeks, we will have ensured that you are fully conversant with Noggin’s development and quality processes. You understand our software platform and test cases, so you're fully adept at estimating the amount of work required to deliver exceptional outcomes.

After 3 months, will have executed test plans, scripts, and QA estimations with limited direction plus you've seen your work lead to improvements in product development operations.

After 6 months, you'll have started to take the lead on some quality initiatives, and you will have developed strong working relationships across the business especially with your peers in quality and the software engineers in your team.

After 12-18 months, you'll likely be ready for a step-up opportunity such as starting to build a team beneath you, or ways to improve the use of technology within Noggin.

Why become a Noggin?

Here at Noggin, we’re smart, we make decisions rapidly and we commit to seeing them through. We are innovative yet pragmatic and we like to get elbows deep in solving some of the world’s most challenging problems. We use the best tools and methodologies available and we are constantly looking for ways to improve.

Beyond this, Noggin believes in promoting talented people from within, to help grow and nurture their skills along with the company and product. As such, this role can be a pathway into team leadership or technical subject matter expertise depending on where you want your career to take you!
