Currently, our employees are predominately working from home and this role will also be remote for the time being. We anticipate employees will be returning to the office, in a flexible capacity, during 2022 as appropriate & when it is safe to do so.

We are very happy for someone to predominantly work from home, however we are looking for someone who is based in Sydney, and can visit the office at least 1 day per week to help with employee onboarding.


The People Team is responsible for maximizing employee value through talent acquisition, employee onboarding, management, experience as well as internal communications. They are the force behind driving employee engagement and strong company culture at Deputy.


We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual, to join and support all functions of our People Team. As the People Operations Specialist you will have an opportunity to multitask a lot of different and interesting work.  You will be responsible for the execution of projects from initiation through implementation in support of all HR processes, including but not limited to Benefits, Performance Management, Compensation, etc. while utilizing and maintaining our Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and other HR-specific systems. You will also work to ensure our data integrity.  You understand high-level business goals and through the creation of deliberate and proactive programs, you will help Deputy to achieve our goals.   • Work with the People team to deliver an empathic and customer service focused experience for everyone at Deputy.
  • Works on projects and process improvements, including gathering requirements to identify objectives and project scope, implementing project plans, attending meetings, partnering with leaders across the bsuiness to ensure projects. requirements are met and completed successfully. 
  • Supports People Partners on various People programs and initiatives such as manager training, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, benefits, performance management, etc. 
  • Provides support to employee questions and inquiries, delivering high-level customer service.
  • Administer employee data changes, including managing and maintaining employee files and master data.
  • Conducts regular audits of employee data to ensure systems security, quality, and data accuracy are monitored and adhere to proper processes and controls.
  • Ensures that employee and organizational data integrity is maintained during administration processing, following data management processes and procedures.
  • Identifies, raises and applies continuous improvements to services and HR systems.
  • Runs and analyzes custom reports for end-users to ensure we are increasing efficiencies and data integrity.
  • Helps communicate system/process changes to our employees, helps with training to end-users, and responds to questions and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensures completion of our Security and Compliance training programs across the organization. 
  • Performs other HR operational tasks such as: data entry, employment verification requests, coordination with payroll, and overall maintenance of employee records, ensuring data integrity for employees.
  • May assist with administering other special projects as needed. An example of this may be a project focused on internal mobility vs promotions, running a campaign/workflow with a high level communications plan and advocating for the different departments.

  • A self-starter who will take the initiative without constant direction, results-oriented, collaborative, have a sense of humour and strong EQ.
  • At least 2 years of experience with HR processes and systems, preferably utilizing SaaS HR technology in a people-related space working with tech teams in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and balance collaboration and communication with multiple stakeholders across various departments and functions.
  • Familiarity with a variety of HR policies, practices, and procedures. 
  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. 
  • Prefer experience with tech stack of a start-up, various SasS operating systems (GSuite, Asana, Slack, Confluence, Bamboo HR, Lattice).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office and G-Suite.
  • The ability to handle and maintain a high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive employee information.
  • Experience with automating processes would be advantageous.
  • Background with recruiting operations or people operations would be a benefit.
