Faethm is scaling! We're looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our Data Science team. We are at an exciting point in our trajectory where we’ve recently joined forces with Pearson Education.  Operating as a scale-up within a larger company, Faethm will continue to evolve over the coming year as we leverage the resources and offerings of our new parent company.

Faethm’s sophisticated AI and analytics help governments, companies and workers understand the dynamic forces shaping the labour market-from technological disruption to economic shocks such as COVID and climate change. Armed with these insights, customers can make data-driven decisions to navigate those changes and upskill or reskill their workforce. Faethm’s data science team is responsible for the development of core IP through a scientific research-driven approach. We are looking for a talented researcher with a diversity of knowledge, thought and experience to contribute to the development of our modelling of future scenarios. You must have exceptional post-graduate qualifications with proven research nous from one of the world’s best universities – or have achieved something that demonstrates equivalent R&D skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the inhouse expert on the impact of technology (and other factors) on the future workforce.
  • Research future trends and contribute to the development of Faethm’s taxonomy of technologies.
  • Utilise appropriate statistical data analysis and modelling to project future trends.
  • Perform qualitative research, data analysis and visualisation in the areas of workforce training, skills and education.
  • Explain highly technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and peers across the organisation.

Required skills & experience:

You must be able to discuss scientific concepts as well as the ability to converse in a simplistic actionable language.  Your likelihood of success in the role will be increased with the following factors:

  • An MSc or PhD in science, engineering, mathematics or economics.
  • Prior experience working as a management consultant.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving and research skills.
  • Curiosity.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to effect global change.
  • Collaborative and enthusiastic working style.
  • A sense of humour.
