Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

We're looking for a Development Manager to lead multiple distributed software development teams here at Atlassian. You'll be part of a growing team, crafting the next generation of our Jira Shared Experiences platform which is focused on delivering a consistent customer experience across our Jira products. You'll work closely with your product and design counterparts to define and deliver the strategy for your product or services, drive high-velocity engineering teams that balance the need for quality, reduction of tech debt, business impact and continual improvement.

You'll be responsible for building effective teams, empowering them to achieve their goals and putting those goals into broader context. Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the Engineering Managers and their teams reporting to you, coaching and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Significant experience with building large scale web software
  • Experience managing and growing people leaders, and engineering teams of 30+ people
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and quality
  • Experience planning projects, people, and dependencies for upcoming 3-4 quarters
  • Consistently demonstrates operational excellence for services under ownership
  • Experience in the following is preferred:
