To help continue this success we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, agile and entrepreneurial leader that will bring a vision for the local technology organisation that can lead and scale the organisation. This will be someone with exceptional people leadership, commercial acumen, strategic intent and visionary technical capability who has a track record of building and scaling high performing engineering & product led organisations whilst building engaged, diverse and high performance teams. 

Sitting on both the ANZ & Global Tech leadership teams this role will be critical to us achieving our mission of being the first payment choice, everywhere and every day. 

About the role

  • Playing a key strategic and leadership role across both the ANZ LT and the Global Technology teams you will be a true partner contributing to the strategy, product and operational aspects of the ANZ business  
  • Developing, executing, and continuously improving our local technology strategy and roadmap to achieve our ambitious goals whilst building product capabilities which align closely with our global teams 
  • Building and leading a high-performing technology organisation that collaborates effectively with global teams across geographies - fostering a culture of collaboration, ‘Engineering excellence’ and an ownership mindset
  • Transform, inspire and evolve our people and leadership capabilities while creating an engineering and learning culture 
  • Identifying new and emerging technologies, monitoring industry trends, and bringing ideas on how Zip can innovate and change the game
  • Collaborating with cyber security on strategy and driving security aware behaviors across the AU organisation
  • Collaborate with & influence cross functional peers to ensure we are championing and delivering scalable and customer centric solutions & experiences in line with objectives, emerging customer trends and the competitive landscape
  • Preparing and managing budgets and day to day management of P&L
  • To help us level up, you’ll bring:

  • Deep technology experience in building global products and platforms. Understand the principles of build once, rollout everywhere
  • Proven track record as a builder and leader. Significant engineering and people leadership experience including in microservices-based, API-driven architectures, agile software delivery and single thread ownership models
  • Experience in public and private cloud, Docker/containerization technology, software-defined infrastructure, site reliability/chaos engineering principles, etc. Demonstrate a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test automation and domain driven design
  • Experience with .Net, React, Kotlin, PostGres, AWS or Azure public cloud environments would be helpful. Experience in modern technology design paradigms and tech stacks is highly desirable 
  • Strong experience in building highly scalable, highly available, low latency products with high resiliency preferably in the payments or consumer domain
  • Experience in a high growth, fast-paced environment where you have lead, developed and inspired large teams of diverse employees with the ability to pivot and adapt with a sense of urgency

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field required; master’s degree preferred with computer science preferred
