Antler, globally, in under three years of operating, has grown to have a presence in 14 cities around the world, including offices in most major startup ecosystems, such as New York, Berlin, London, Singapore and Sydney. This has resulted in investments in over 250 companies. Here in Sydney, we are coming up to our second birthday and are making more early-stage bets than anyone else in the country. To date, we have welcomed over 330 founders to our platform and invested in 39 companies.

We help to build complementary co-founder teams, supported by deep business model validation and we provide a global platform for quicker scaling, due diligence and problem-solving. To date, Antler globally has invested in and helped build over 250 companies, 40% of which have at least one female co-founder.

A bit about the role

Our headcount in Sydney has been steadily growing. We are currently 24 strong and looking to add a new superpower to the team. We are on the hunt for a Partner/Associate Partner to further strengthen our investing and operational capabilities. A Partner in Antler has the opportunity to have an incredible impact on the early-stage innovation ecosystem, and be a part of building the next wave of fast-growing technology companies in Australia. Your focus will be on investing in our emerging teams and supporting our portfolio companies, ensuring they are set up for success from a team, product and company structure perspective. You have (or will) build a deep network in the VC and angel ecosystems as you will be measured by the success of our investments and portfolio. Our emerging teams are looking for $250 - $500k cheques with our more established portfolio companies are gearing up to raise Series A from institutional investors. You will also need to be able to identify our highest potential startups where Antler can increase our ownership stake from an initial 12% to a target of 15-20%.

We’re hiring for this role in Sydney but are also open to Melbourne-based candidates.

A bit about you

Founder first

You love and believe in people. You know that the founding team is the heart of a startup and is ultimately responsible for an early-stage company's success. You thrive in spotting exceptional talent and helping them build companies and raise capital. To date, you will have a strong track record of investment or you have been a founder who has built a business and raised institutional capital.

Relationship builder 

Your love of people radiates and so you have a broad network throughout the angel and investment community. You know which deals are relevant to whom and how to branch into new areas when needed. 

Across the numbers

You know the devil is in the detail and know your way around a spreadsheet. Perhaps you cut your teeth as an Associate or Analyst in a tier one firm and then moved into tech. Or, have done the DD on many investments. Or, maybe you're a self taught pro.


You believe in being open and honest. You are a clean and concise communicator able to negotiate and deliver tough messages with clarity and empathy.

We have a one team approach. We win together and take risks, acknowledging this means backing and recognising each other’s efforts and offering support when needed.

This depends on your experience to date and in addition to a competitive base salary you will receive a % in our local fund.
