Position Overview

Whispir is searching for talented communication professional to build awareness of our ongoing industry innovation, thought leadership and growth stories.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Corporate Communications Manager will work directly with key stakeholders from throughout the business to develop and own our external communications strategy.

The key objective of this role is to generate awareness and earned media opportunities with key finance, business and industry media publications. This exciting role is a unique mix of strategy, research, writing, media relations and execution.


How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop and deliver an integrated external communication strategy aligned with key business objectives
  • Partner with IR & PR teams to secure and manage external media interview and article opportunities
  • Develop strong media and analyst relations within the media marketplace
  • Possess an innate ability to break down complex product, technical or strategic projects into easily digestible content that resonates with media
  • Build strong working relationships with Whispir content, product, sales and design teams, along with key members of the Whispir leadership group
  • Develop and promote engaging content focused on new customer signings, product innovation, thought leaders, company milestones, quarterly performance reporting, strategic partnerships, diversity and innovation
  • Provide weekly media monitoring reports


We are ideally looking for motivated candidates with:

  • A content strategy, MarComms or journalism background, coupled with a tertiary qualification in Communications or PR
  • Experience managing an organisation's external marketing communications program including media coverage contributed articles and press releases
  • Extensive writing experience with 8+ years in a similar role
  • The natural ability to translate business objectives into engaging media content
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills
  • An ability to cope with change in a fast-paced dynamic environment experiencing growth and expansion
  • A mix of big picture thinking complemented by day to day project delivery
  • Strong research and investigation skills

Direct reports and key relationships

Reporting directly to the Corporate Communications Manager would be the Communications & Engagement Specialist, who is tasked with growing employee engagement, enhancing business culture and celebrating our successes.

These two critical roles will form the Whispir Communications Team and oversee all internal and external communications for Whispir.

Additionally, there would be a close working relationship and a dotted reporting line with our two creative content writers. The Corporate Communications Manager will actively guide and develop the style and skills of our creative writers to ensure all content is aligned to the content and communications strategy.

Other key working relationships include the CEO, COO, CFO, CPO, Regional Sales VP's and People and Culture.

  • Existing relationships with journalists within major finance, business and industry media publications
  • Previous experience managing communications across multiple geographies
  • Previous SaaS experience
