Beautiful Conversations is a multi year programme of work designed to “make every message matter”, ensuring we deliver highly relevant, targeted and useful communications to our customers. Ultimately, this initiative will help deliver Xero’s vision of becoming the most trusted and insightful small business platform. 

About the role:
The  Product Marketing Manager, Beautiful Conversations is a new role that is focused on driving this communications transformation programme (called Beautiful Conversations) from a Product Marketing perspective. This will involve working closely with the Product, Customer and GTM teams to ensure we’re prioritising the highest value communications across the customer journey for Xero.  

You’ll be the Product Marketing lead helping to shape the beautiful conversations Xero has with customers. The Product Marketing Manager will be part of the Product Marketing team, and work closely with the Product Management team in Global Services and User Platforms (GSUP) and the Customer team, to deliver the Beautiful Conversations program. This will involve bringing a holistic view of customer needs to the program, delivering value propositions and market targeting, as well as leading a cross functional team across Product, Customer and Communications to successfully launch the program.

What you'll do:

  • Build the marketing plan for Beautiful conversations to ensure we leverage every touchpoint with small business customers to enhance their experience and help them realise value
  • Assess the market, competitors, industry trends and customer needs. You should know your market, customers and competition better than anyone, and look for ways to integrate this information into the product developments related to the Beautiful Conversations programme.
  • Ensure Product Managers have the right market and customer insights to shape their roadmaps, helping them define the short, medium and long term product development plans.
  • Craft customer facing messaging to key audiences.
  • Lead the customer value proposition around Beautiful Conversations, including its development, maintenance and custodianship throughout Xero.
  • Be the primary Product representative on go-to-market programs- enabling efficient and effective product releases.
  • Provide feedback to Product & Customer teams to show how product / features meet the needs of our segments and where gaps exist.
  • What you'll bring with you:

  • Demonstrated experience building new product value propositions to develop and launch new products or features.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product lifecycle marketing strategy & execution, including in-product comms, cross sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with Product Managers and development teams.
  • Confidence in working through ambiguity and creating new experiences.
  • Passionate collaborator and thrive on the challenge of regularly connecting teams across regions and global offices
  • Ability to build strong business relationships, internally and externally, that allow you to challenge and influence stakeholders whilst still having fun everyday
  • 7+ years in a product marketing or marketing role (communications experience an advantage)
  • Loads of initiative and able to lead virtual teams and work autonomously
  • Ability to handle the pace and ambiguity that comes with working in a fast-paced tech environment.
