Currently, our employees are predominately working from home and this role will also be remote for the time being. We anticipate employees will be returning to the office, in a flexible capacity, during 2021 as appropriate & when it is safe to do so.


At Deputy, we rely on our IT systems to power the solutions that help all Deputies around the world. We’re seeking an experienced IT manager who can join us on this journey. You will be key to driving efficiency in our tools and services, managing costs and working out with other business leaders what the most effective IT strategies are to keep us driving forward. You will analyse and maintain our current systems and assets, recommend, implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training and advice throughout the company. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.


  • Firstly, you will be a hero to everyone in the company who relies on a tool or service to do their work.
  • Be a line manager and mentor to a team of Platform and IT Operations Engineers
  • You will maintain and review everything regarding our IT infrastructure to maintain and improve effectiveness and efficiency in everything we do, including networking, operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
  • Run department or company-wide projects to install or upgrade any of our IT infrastructure.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software and make recommendations on necessary or highly advantageous changes.
  • Prepare cost benefits analysis reports when upgrades are necessary, continuously analyzing vendors to ensure they offer the best possible service and value for company needs.
  • Train everyone that needs it on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Develop and execute disaster procedures, and maintain data backups

  • You have the utmost integrity, be open and honest, collaborative in nature, have a growth mindset and not be afraid to speak your mind when it is in the best interests of the company
  • You're balanced, both personally and professionally, who acts with good humour and positivity.
  • You’re extremely well organised and can maintain a long and varied list of tasks at and stakeholders at any time.
  • You communicate very clearly and are transparent to all in your initiatives and goals

  • 5+ years experience in IT management
  • Experience with networking management and hardware, maintaining secure MacOS systems, GSuite administration, Salesforce, Xero, Zuora, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring
  • Experience maintaining the following a bonus; Intercom, Bamboo HR, Salesloft, Hubspot
  • Proven experience managing and nurturing a Corporate Engineering team (preferably cross geographies as well)
