Overview of Position 

This role will be a key contributor to several R&D projects, Advanced Navigation’s various grant funded projects as well as successful attainment of grant funding. You will work closely with key stakeholders across a variety of teams and organisations to drive the formation of the project proposal, and to define the details required to form a successful application. You will drive the creation of documentation and written responses required to address application requirements. You'll also contribute to the improvement of this process and the implementation of improvements to ensure increased efficiency and success of Advanced Navigation’s applications.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Produce documentation (meeting minutes, presentations, reports, project plans, budgets, proposals, risk assessments etc.) that addresses project & grant requirements
  • Coordinate technical team by working closely with the project manager to follow up on project & grant activities - track status and escalate issues
  • Manage projects under the direction of the project manager or project sponsor
  • Write and coordinate grant applications by working closely with technical team members to deliver competitive, easy to understand submissions in time for the grant submission deadlines
  • Produce opportunity briefings to enable efficient grant selection
  • Ensure efficient involvement of stakeholders to create strong proposals and minimise impact to the business
  • Explain complex technical issues in simple language, addressing key criteria
  • Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Higher education qualification, ideally in engineering
  • 2+ years experience in technical writing and some experience in an engineering-focused role (electronics background preferred)
  • Previous experience with Australian Government grant applications
  • Previous experience in working on government funded projects
  • Exceptional eye for detail and excellent time management skills under tight deadlines
  • Ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders on complex topics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and documentation drafting
  • Clear communication style, both verbal and written forms
  • Strong ability to maintain sight of the “big-picture” while diving into complex issues
  • Experience in the proposal creation/drafting, either for grants or another relevant area
