As Senior AI Engineer with, you will be in a unique position to directly impact the lives of our patients and their families, having both the empathy and technical intelligence to make big leaps in innovation and technology developments. The primary purpose of your role is to translate complex machine learning technology into meaningful products that drive the practice of medicine forward. We are seeking your help to ensure our machine learning technologies operate as well in practice as they do in theory.
Our AI Engineers work in dynamic development teams collaborating with Software Development, Software Test, DevOps Engineers, Integration Engineers and others. You will therefore be a collaborative team player with a passion for bringing good ideas to life and an enthusiasm to drive the future direction of our products from concept through to delivery. Your passion for learning will be demonstrated by your initiative to learn new tools and products as well as identify opportunities to improve our current processes and standards. 

What you'll do:

  • Lead AI component development and influence strategy around best use of human and machine intelligence in designing impactful and sustainable solutions;
  • Collaborate closely with the software development teams, AI research team, AI system team and Product team to deliver excellent AI products in an agile environment; 
  • Provide strong technical leadership to project teams;
  • Ensure products are adequately developed, tested, fit for purpose and developing high production quality code;
  • Aim towards continuous delivery, removing obstacles and identifying potential for delivery, business and process improvements; and
  • Implement security controls to protect AI products and champion secure development lifecycle process.
  • What will help you succeed:

  • Demonstrable experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Deep Learning;
  • Strong experience in Python and other compiled/interpreted languages;
  • Good experience with development best practices such as Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipelines, Gitflow; 
  • Experience in containerisation and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes; and
  • Comfortable working in greenfield projects with higher levels of ambiguity.
  • Nice to have experience with (but not essential):

  • Cloud (AWS) and on-premise software development;
  • Serving deep learning models scalably and quickly;
  • Healthcare data; and/or
  • Tensorflow and Keras ecosystem.
