The Opportunity
We are launching to the automotive industry. Now is your chance to make an impact on the design, development & integration of our next generation LiDAR!

We are adding 3 x Electronics Engineers to take our sensitive analog circuits and architecture to the next level of performance and reliability in our patented unique technology; across the miniaturisation of the product.

The role reports to our Electrical Engineering Team Leader in the Hardware Engineering team and collaborates closely with the broader Engineering capability (i.e. Electrical / Mechanical / Software / Firmware / Systems Engineering teams) along with the NPI (New Product Introduction) and Advanced Manufacturing teams.

Your Success
This is your chance to make break-through fundamental circuit and architecture improvements as we develop the product platform for high-tech industrial components, to deliver high performance specifications. This will take the following roadmap:

1 – Improve the AFE (short-term goal)

The primary focus is optimising our ultralow noise high sensitivity Analog Front-End (AFE), high-speed precision ADCs and laser drive circuits.

We have recently begun a new development cycle for the next generation LiDAR, introducing new features and technologies such as Doppler.

You’ll be involved in the full end-to-end PCBA development: from concept, design, release, verification, debugging, through to transfer to the on-site Advanced Manufacturing team.

This includes:

  • Develop advanced electronic circuits to obtain high level performance from complex opto-electronic components
  • Debug complex multi-point failures in PCBAs
  • Design, review, and release to manufacture high quality industrial-grade PCBAs, particularly for the automotive industry
  • Test the circuits and modules to verify they meet the designed specifications
  • Plan and execute rigorous safety and compliance test programmes

2 - Manufacturability for the automotive industry (Medium-term goal)

We are implementing AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) standards. You’ll participate in driving the adoption of Automotive Core Tools.

This includes:

  • Foster the adoption and implementation of team quality standards
  • Commit to attaining regulatory compliance

3 – Miniaturisation (Long-term goal)

Multiple ASICs and component integration will drive Baraja LiDAR to the size, power and cost limits required by the industry.

This includes:

  • Integrate sub-systems into ASICs
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers and collaborate on finding solutions to ensure the ASICs meet the specifications
  • Project estimation (cost, resources, duration) and progress review
  • Assist with sustenance of electronics laboratory equipment and consumables

About You
We work in an Agile (i.e. SCRUM, Kanban) fashion where multi-disciplinary squads are formed from tribes. This includes:

  • Horizon model (e.g. Product Plan, Product Roadmap)
  • Product Development Process (e.g. Phase & Gate: PDR, DDR, CDR, etc)
  • Design Thinking (e.g. Viability, Feasibility, Usability, etc)

You’ve a commercial experience in the following:

  • Agile environment
  • Delivery of at least 2 full commercial projects in advanced electronic circuits and modules
  • Regulatory framework in highly regulated industries, such as in automotive, aviation, the military, etc
  • Selecting and using high-speed and precision test equipment
  • Scripting / coding skills, preferably Python but we’re open to any equivalent (e.g. VHDL, C/C++, etc)
  • Altium library management, schematic, layout, DRC, stack-up, release management
  • Excellent initiative, organisation, teamwork and communication skills
  • Tertiary education in Electronics Engineering or similar discipline

Ideally, you’d have experience in the following:

  • Supplier management and technical assistance for industrial PCBA manufacture and assembly
  • Product manufacture and assembly in a quality-controlled high-volume production environment
  • Completion of electrical safety regulatory compliance for an industrial product
  • Interfacing and using optical components and test equipment
  • Knowledge and observation of electronics aspects of products and trends in the international AVs and EVs
