About the position

We are looking for an experienced Research & Insights Manager to join a rapidly growing Marketing team. The focus of this newly created position is to develop an evidence base that informs better decision making across our business strategy.

You are an experienced researcher and manager with expert understanding of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. You understand the importance of marrying business goals with cultural context and customer insights. You know exactly when to engage with cross-functional teams, what questions to ask, where to probe, and how to implement the most effective research strategies. You are a creative problem-solver who seeks to deeply understand the business so that you can define the most meaningful and strategic research plans. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy setting your own research goals, managing load and expectations, and delivering impactful research findings and recommendations. You have a passion for leading teams and developing talent and understand how to balance the jobs of leading a team through effective coaching and delegation with leading your own projects. You’re passionate about the small business economy and believe great experiences are always inspired by a deep understanding of the customer.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct market trends and horizon scanning for input to business strategy and proposition prioritisation
  • Work with channel leads to define the learning agenda and research program for their segment
  • Track brand awareness and consideration across products, channels and segments
  • Provide insights which enable the Marketing team to develop campaigns that are deeply relevant to the target segment
  • Provide insights which enable the Sales team to build relationships with customers and demonstrate the value proposition of Moula (via sales collateral, external and/or internal events)
  • Partner with UX/Design, Product, Engineering and Data teams to build in research at multiple stages of the product development process
  • Conduct primary research to inform our content strategy
  • Lead how the business evaluates customer and partner satisfaction across segments from set up through to management and reporting
  • Lead customer definition work (profiling, strategic segments, prioritisation, needs analysis)
  • Setup and operation of customer and partner panel
  • Design and run marketing, product or service concept tests or campaign pre-testing (e.g. with the panel)
  • Develop campaign measurement models and campaign reviews to inform creative performance and ROAS
  • Work with advertisers, agencies, industry trade bodies, and other external stakeholders to advance ad measurement practices
  • Extract key market-level insights and implications from external/secondary research programmes
  • Provide key data and insight as requested by our Corporate Development Team, Executive Leadership Team, the CEO or the Board
  • Lead, manage, coach and mentor a BI/Reporting Analyst

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in market research and quantitative/statistical methods at either a research agency or client side
  • Experience managing the primary research process end-to-end from understanding business objectives and writing a brief, to generating insights and providing strategic recommendations to the business
  • Knowledge of omni-channel brand & performance ad measurement technologies (e.g. pixels, multi-source attribution, uplift testing)
  • You have a deep understanding local/global research vendors & their capability
  • You are fully self-sufficient/creative in finding ways to get at the data and insights needed to tell the right story
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise raw data into meaningful insights and business outcomes
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive analytics methods and tools
  • You are able to articulate learning agendas to senior executives, and conduct the required testing and analysis to execute them
