We are looking for an amazing CTO to join us on our journey at Brighte. Reporting to the Founder and CEO the CTO will be responsible for leading and driving an exciting green energy future.
Brighte has product-market fit and has developed a point of sale finance platform focused on residential solar. Our next stage of growth sees us helping households access batteries and to do this we are building a new type of energy retail business that reimagines the way households will buy and pay for energy. The CTO is an essential role in building out the vision and strategy to enable this next stage of our growth and unlocking household energy storage.
As the most senior technologist in the organisation you will play a critical part in setting the vision and strategy whilst determining the impact this has on the overall organisation. We are seeking an agile and entrepreneurial leader that will bring a vision for the technology function that can drive and scale the organisation. This will be someone with strong people leadership, commercial acumen, and technical capability who has a track record of building and scaling high-performing technology organisations whilst building culturally diverse teams. The Engineering, IT Operations, Security, and Data functions will all report into this role.
What you'll do
Work hand in hand with the Founder and executive team to drive and execute Brighte’s vision and strategy.Raise the bar and set the tone for the future through high-impact decisions that the technology function has on the business, customers, and partners.Build a world-class technology capability that attracts top talent and allows the team to look back on Brighte as the best years of their career where they executed their most impactful work.Build the engine by helping to scale up our recruiting activities and implementing a scalable organisational structure.Execute safely but quickly balancing market needs with security, risk (fraud), quality, and people considerations.Build a world-class security capability and the underlying infrastructure to enable safe scaling.Plan for scale as you execute considering impediments and accelerators including; people, structure, process, systems, and Architecture.Connect with the customer problem and business model, ideate and problem-solve to unlock unrealised value technology can provide.Working closely with your leaders in; Engineering, IT Operations, and Data to lead manage and scale the team as well as build a strong, high-performing, and diverse culture.
Who you are
Minimum 5+ years experience in a CTO or VP Engineering role within a company that has 500+ staffEntrepreneurial approach and experience in building and scaling software teams in a start-up environmentProven strategic and people leadership capability with an ability to set and communicate an inspiring vision to your team and the companyStrong functional expertise in Engineering, IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Data Science and Analytics.Highly motivated and capable to grow and expand in the role in accordance with business growth and expansionExcellent communicator (written and verbal) and interpersonal skillsPragmatic and analytical - able to understand, integrate and assess information relating to technical issues and opportunities within a complex and multifaceted environment
