The efficient collection, storage and delivery of high-quality data is critical to harrison.ai’s mission to deliver impossible healthcare using artificial intelligence. Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, a Senior Solutions Architect provides technical leadership and guidance in the design, implementation and maintenance of harrison.ai’s world leading data engineering platforms. The primary goal of this platform is to provide harrison.ai’s AI engineers with an efficient method of creating world class AI models from a vast array of data sources. The platform provides a seamless experience for gathering and labelling data acquired from various sources as well as training and evaluating new models.
About your role
In this role a Senior Solutions Architect will be a very capable problem solver who is able to define, understand, challenge and translate the requirements of our stakeholders into well designed technical solutions. A Senior Solutions Architect working in partnership with software engineers within the Harrison.ai data engineering team will build high quality hybrid cloud infrastructure that powers our data labelling efforts, data processing pipelines, provides controlled API access to our data lake and manages our various AI model training infrastructure.
Having significant experience in developing infrastructure for native cloud and traditional server technologies, a Senior Solutions Architect will provide guidance, mentoring and assistance to more junior colleagues. The harrison.ai engineering team also serves other teams with the development of their own internal infrastructure, CICD pipelines and code reviews. Senior Solutions Architects, having significant experience in these areas will also provide leadership to other teams within the organisation, assisting them where required. As with all roles within the data engineering team it is also expected that a Senior Solutions Architect is continuously looking to improve their skillset both technically and professionally. A Senior Solutions Architect will have experience in a range of different technology environments including public cloud services and commercial on-premises solutions as well as be an effective leader across teams within harrison.ai.
What you'll do:
Planning, architecting, implementing and maintaining hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions required to fulfil the mission and projects of the data engineering team; Working with harrison.ai joint ventures to ensure efficient extraction, processing and storage of data; Providing technical leadership and guidance to more junior members of the harrison.ai data engineering team as well as across other teams within harrison.ai; Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; Working with the security engineering and data privacy controllers to understand risk levels and required security controls for all data pipelines; and Keeping across latest trends in data engineering, always looking for opportunities to push the boundaries of performance, accessibility and maintenance.
What will help you succeed:
Strong Experience designing solutions in public clouds such as AWS; Strong Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure for large datasets including technologies such as AWS RedShift, Presto; Strong Experience with infrastructure as code technologies such as terraform and ansible; Experience automating large scale infrastructure and server deployments; Experience with microservice architecture and design, API's, CI/CD, Containerisation, Identity and Access Management (OAUTH2, OIDC, SAML authentication and authorisation flows); Have worked in previous Cloud / Solutions Architect or Senior Dev-Ops roles, with Data architecture experience; and Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or similar.
Nice to have experience with (but not essential):
5+ years experience developing cloud / on-prem infrastructure;Experience in programming in scripting languages such as Python or Bash;Experience with large scale data migrations from on-prem to cloud environments; Understanding of data privacy regulations and industry-standard guidelines such as Australian Privacy Law, CSIRO Data61 framework, HIPAA and GDPR; and AWS solutions architect certification or similar
