About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineer/Consultant to utilise their operations and security knowledge to help upskill and round out our talented Software Engineers.
Day to day you will leverage your empathy together with your sound experience in solution design, operations and the SDLC to ensure solutions have considered security, monitoring/alerting/trending, scaling and availability options - in short we’d like you to share your valued experience on good operating practices and platform/infrastructure design in a meaningful and engaging way with our Engineers in order to put Xero’s best foot forward.

About you

Ideally you will bring an open mind that’s able to listen to (internal) clients and stakeholders hopes, dreams and problems and leveraging your critical-thinking and problem solving skills to articulate and plan the desired outcome together! A background in technical troubleshooting, experience with monitoring and operations would be reviewed favorably.

You’ll come to us with a few years of practical DevOps experience with AWS & CI/CD pipelining. More importantly, you’ll be a veteran of stakeholder engagement & management and come with a passion for solving peoples problems using your technical expertise.
