FrankieOne is seeking a stellar Finance Manager who will be a key contributor to Frankie’s success. The role will be based out of our Melbourne office and will play an integral role in building out the finance & accounting functions of the business as we scale. Joining at a critical point of our growth for the business, this is an opportunity to help establish the finance function for the future and implement best practices across reporting, systems and people. You will report to the CFO and will be responsible for the day to day financial management of the business: ranging from assisting with financial planning, budgeting, financial modeling & forecasting, management accounting, strategic planning, and preparation of reporting to management, Board and investors.

You have
5+ years experience of professional experience
Have broad finance experience – we’re looking for an all rounder (this could include background in big-4, banking, transaction service, internal finance role at a startup or scaleup)
You have strong accounting and analytical skills (CPA or CA or equivalent)
Passionate about what they do and eager to grow
Confident communicating to key stakeholders inside (management, Board) and outside the business (investors)
Excellent excel and financial modelling skills
High proficiency in Xero
Passionate about automation and technology

What you’ll do
Designing best practices in our finance & accounting functions
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
Financial modelling and partnering with internal teams for forecasting
Management accounting – working with external accountants to manage all accounting & reporting requirements to run our business (annual audits, financial reports, oversee AP, AR and payroll functions)
Maintaining effective financial controls and compliance
Automating and optimizing our billing and invoicing system
Contribution to the preparation of management and Board reports
Developing financial reporting dashboards
Investor reporting & analytics

What success looks like
In your first month, we will give you the full induction so that you understand the company culture and meet all of your cross-functional partners. We will ensure that you have all the tools that you need to be successful. You will work closely with Mark, our CFO to get a full understanding of the role, and Simon, the CEO so that you have a full understanding of FrankieOne’s mission and vision. Day-to-day you will work closely with Mark to understand the requirements and responsibilities of the role, and get a clear picture of the status quo and where we need to get to.

In month two, you will be entrenched in the day-to-day activities in the role and will be working closely with the CFO to build out best practices in each of the key areas: financial planning, management accounting, billing & invoicing, and reporting.

By month three you will be super comfortable with the role and will be leading the day-to-day activities in the finance team and supporting the CFO in all our finance functions across the business.

The team
You will be reporting to Mark Powell, FrankieOne’s CFO. Mark Powell joined FrankieOne as the first employee and has worn many hats as the company has grown over the last 2 years. Before joining, Mark spent 11 years in investment banking roles in Sydney and New York, and brings a breadth of experience across finance, operations and leadership roles.

You will spend time with Simon Costello, FrankieOne’s CEO. Simon initially started his career in investment banking though has since successfully founded 3 further startups across Europe (www.streetbees.com), Asia (www.hyphengroup.io) and Australia (bopple.com), collectively raising over $200m in capital. Simon is a bit of a hippy at heart, rides his bicycle everywhere, lives in the North and his pride and joy is his vegetable patch and wormery.

Logistics
The full-time role will be based in our Docklands, Melbourne office. As mentioned above, we have a flexible work-from-home policy after onboarding, though we believe spending some days in the office creates a vibrant office culture and team collaboration / problem-solving.

Our interview process will involve a series of interviews with the senior management team at FrankieOne and a case study.
