About Rental Heroes

Rental Heroes is a high growth, fully funded proptech startup based in Melbourne Australia. 

Ben and Dom founded Rental Heroes [link removed] in 2019 to help residential property managers and tenants automate and reduce the manual interactions when coordinating common tenant requests.

Our product is an AI-powered chatbot called “Alex”. Alex communicates directly with tenants and takes care of the transactional “busy work” - every property manager can now have their very own digital property assistant. Alex is available 24/7 to answer tenancy questions and even assist with maintenance troubleshooting.

Our customers are residential property managers (B2B) and “Alex” is sold on a monthly subscription (SaaS). 

Why we created this role

Over the last 15 months we have grown from 0 to 40k tenants (users) on our platform. We are now building a small team to help take our business to the next level. 

We are looking for a sales super-star to take over the day-to-day nurturing, developing, and closing of sales leads. 

“Alex” really is the coolest thing to hit property management in years; you will be selling an exciting new proposition that is fully integrated with our customers’ existing systems. 

What the role involves

You will work closely with Ben (CEO and Co-Founder) to initially handover - and then - supercharge the sales function.

Our expectations of you will be - 

  • Become an expert in our product offering, to clearly articulate the value proposition to potential customers. Plenty of training will be provided.
  • Manage cross-channel outreach by contacting potential customers. 
  • Manage and communicate your progress against targets and request support where required.
  • Input into formulation of lead generation strategies to help identify new potential customers.

Your day-to-day activity will involve– 

  • Receiving leads via our Hubspot CRM. All our prospecting channels are integrated directly into Hubspot. 
  • Phone marketing to warm leads to explain our proposition and book a product demo meeting.
  • Hosting 2-3 product demo meetings via zoom, every day. 
  • Following-up and closing sales post-demo. (leveraging our library of content and automated workflows)
  • Keeping on top of your numbers and continually tweaking the process. We measure and optimise everything. 
  • At least initially, we will probably ask you to help with some account management duties too (customer onboarding and health-checks).

Rental Heroes currently has 5 employees and is expanding. This is a great time for someone to join the team right at the start of our expansion and growth journey and really shape the future of the business.

The ideal candidate

  • 3-5 years' prior B2B sales / business development experience, ideally SaaS.
  • Ideally your experience relates to real estate, property management and/or Proptech.
  • Will be proficient and experienced in working with software packages such as Hubspot.
  • You have a carried a quota as an individual contributor and have a great track record of success.
  • Consultative sales approach, capable of understanding customer pain points, requirements and delivering a response.
  • Passion and proficiency in working with new technologies and new technical concepts.
  • Strong presentation skills through both zoom and onsite meetings.

The environment you will be working in

Rental Heroes is very much a start-up, so you have to be comfortable with last minute change and getting involved in everything. Your day may chop and change, and you will typically be busy and under pressure. 

We are expecting to move to a Melbourne CBD location in the 2nd half of 2021 where you will be expected to work at least 3 days per week. Initially, your work location will be a combination of co-working offices (CBD), the founder’s home-based office (Kensington) and your home.
