Reporting to Head of Mortgage Operations

We are Athena and we are a fintech that has already transformed home loan lending in Australia for the better, and we’re only just getting started! 

We are not a bunch of bankers. Unlike them we actually give a buck about the customer. We are here to lighten the loan for Australian’s reducing their mortgage life sentence. Because life is too short for a long home loan.

We’re looking for a highly experienced Operations Leader to join Athena. 

This role is responsible for; 

  • Leading a team of Service Hub members across multiple functions that include Payments, Variations, Discharges and Loan Maintenance.  
  • Coaching and developing team members to create a high performing and engaged team, helping to make Athena a great place to work.  
  • Drive a culture of service and operational excellence through Athena values, continuous improvement and creating opportunities for innovation and team collaboration  
  • Managing productivity and allocation of work, capacity and forecast planning to ensure the team is resourced appropriately in order to exceed all service and quality targets 
  • Ownership, coordination and management of Service Hub processes and procedures Working with Process Engineering on development of new processes.  
  • Daily operations vendor lead for key service-related partners. E.g. Legal stream, Perpetual, DocuSign and the NAB payments  
  • Play a leadership role in setting the vision and requirements for the Lending platform to achieve the goals of Athena 
  • Ownership of Operations 1st line risk framework, ensuring continual and proactive reviews of end-to-end process controls.  
  • Responsible for resolution of risk events to be owned by Service Hub including root cause analysis, remediation and improved controls to reduce future instances

  • Stakeholder engagement and calibration with Athena Product, Technology, Risk and Marketing functions.  

Who are we looking for? 

  • You have a minimum of 8 years Leadership experience. 
  • You have a minimum of 5 years Lending experience. 
  • You have the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment whilst also adding to the Athena culture – a fun, energised, dynamic start up environment. 
  • Act as a leader in the company. Bring positivity, energy and flexibility 
  • You have experience managing a pipeline of work with multiple tasks & deadlines  
  • You demonstrate a high-level attention to detail
