Summary of Role:
The Financial Accountant is pivotal to the growth and success of the Willow group Finance function, as the group progresses to the next phase of growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • The role is responsible for:
  • - providing support for Group FM
  • - the maintenance of financial data integrity of the general ledger
  • - assistance in preparation of internal and external reporting, as well as all statutory accounting and tax compliance for the group (AU, US, UK, Netherlands “NT”, HK)
  • - management of payroll for US, NT and UK
  • - support of day to day finance operations in HQ
  • General ledger/Management reporting  
  • Liaison and provides support to our shared services team (SSC) in Manila and Sydney HQ on day to day accounting, AP/AR issues
  • Maintenance of financial data integrity and accuracy, ensuring data provides accurate insight for Willow management
  • Preliminary review of monthly P&L by entities and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring reconciling items are dealt with appropriately  
  • Investigation, analysis and reporting as required by business
  • Debtors follow up - liaison with PMs and clients on risky/high profile issues as required
  • Documentation of process flows and identification of areas for improvement
  • Assist SSC in maintaining internal control & process improvements
  •  Statutory Compliance
  • Assistance in group audit as well as specific regional requirement eg Europe, HK, liaising with auditors, providing clear and accurate supporting/analysis as required
  • Support in preparation of group consolidated statutory accounts for all regions
  • Taxation – preparation of routine AU submissions (BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT) as well as foreign regional tax compliance requirements (state and federal)
  • System/Process implementation and improvements 
  • Assistance in special projects/system implementations
  • Assistance in implementation of internal controls  
  • Others
  • Management of payroll for US, NT and UK – this includes preparation of fortnightly/monthly reconciliation for review
  • Assistance in preparation cashflow forecast/monitoring
  • Finance related administration tasks eg, maintenance of bank accounts, corporate cards, insurance renewal support
  • Skills & Experience Required:

  • CA/CPA qualified  
  • 5+ years post qualification experience with combination of background in “Big 4”/2nd Tier professional accounting practices (Audit/Business services), and commerce
  • Strong technical accounting skills – eg good understanding of AASB 15, experience in preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements with foreign currency subsidiaries
  • Experience in professional services and software development/SaaS industries desirable
  • Exposure and reasonable understanding of Australian taxes. Exposure in US tax compliances will be advantageous  
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Reasonable experience in cloud software such as Salesforce, or similar  
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written  
  • Responsible individual with high degree of professional integrity, proactive with “can-do” attitude, initiative to problem solve and willingness to learn 
  • Great attention to details and accuracy
  • Effective people skills, ability to liaise and building strong rapport with external customers as well as people at different levels of the organisation
