The Financial Accountant plays a critical role to ensure the integrity and timely management of financial data, to assist in stakeholder management and provide the best customer service experience. This role involves processing transactions, reconciliations, investigations and improvement of process and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare financial accounts and ledger reconciliations for the company and trusts.
  • Manage and maintain general ledgers.
  • Review general ledger transaction to ensure correct classification and tax treatment.
  • Oversee the payroll process managed by a third party, including termination and redundancy calculation as well as super and PAYG payments to ensure our statutory obligations are being met.
  • Process manual customer payment, asset sales to Trusts as required and process trust remittances.
  • Daily reconciliation between Bank Statement and Receivables Management System for Customer Collections and Vendor Disbursements.
  • Investigate any unreconciled items.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and create new finance processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Projects:
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and provide support to the Financial Controller as needed
  • Who You Are

  • Around 3 years experience.
  • CPA or CA qualified - or in the process of acquiring qualification.
  • Experience in Financial Services is ideal (audit consulting is also highly regarded)
  • Demonstrates curiosity and the ability to engage across a broad range of internal stakeholders.
  • Known for having an enquiring mind and improving financial processes.
  • Exceptional excel skills.
  • Open to taking on new tasks, working with evolving and changing priorities, tasks and direction as the business expands.
