The Role
As the Head of learning and development, you will report to the Chief People Officer and be expected to influence the board and senior managers at all levels to adopt and support effective approaches to learning and development. You will also be involved in succession planning and talent management with experience in designing e-learning programmes and managing budgets. Ultimately, you will help our company succeed by training and developing its people.
The head role in L&D is both a strategic and operational role. Hence, you will be  required to meet with the senior management and P&C on a regular basis in this standalone role. You will also need to liaise with them to align the overall learning and development strategy with the broader business goals of the company.

What you’ll be doing

  • Planning, creating, implementing and improving learning solutions that support business unit goals and strategic objectives through systems, frameworks, processes and tools
  • Evaluate individual and organizational development needs, create and execute learning strategies and programs to address those needs
  • Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training)
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and business partners
  • Identifying opportunities for development, developing business cases and championing initiatives
  • Applying adult learning theories to ensure employees get the best out of their development
  • Ensure consistent learning methodologies are designed and scaled across our globally spread workforce
  • Coordinate engaging training and development programs through a combination of learning methods
  • Explore and stay current on opportunities to introduce and expand digital learning
  • Maintain L&D records and documents
  • What we are looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or certification in training, coaching and development
  • A strong understanding of coaching and development techniques and delivery across a global organization
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus
  • Prior experience as senior HR/L&D Manager/Director
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles, experience working with multiple countries and cultures
  • Previous experience identifying needs, developing strategies and implementing L&D initiatives and programs, with the ability to build a flexible approach to meet diverse needs
  • Consultative and collaborative approach to end-to-end Learning & Development across global teams, with stakeholders at various levels
  • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and best practices for digital learning experiences
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
  • Passionate and focused around delivering results in an ever changing and demanding, global environment
  • Proven experience in project management and budgeting
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to continuously upskill
