We’re looking for a technology minded entrepreneur to lead Brighte’s emerging energy business. You will be the leader of our retail energy business, working alongside amazing technology teams and market visionaries, focused on creating a shift in the energy world and accelerating the adoption of solar, batteries, and distributed energy resources.
You understand how to use the best in people & technology to create new market offerings that accelerate the shift of power to households, giving them new economic options for energy that change the landscape of Australian energy. We’re going to accelerate the shift to electrification and renewables in the Australian home.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Energy team, to assure a cohesive strategy across all aspects of the team and how it integrates with the other areas of Brighte’s business.
  • Run the Energy leadership team, including the Head of Product, Energy & the Head of Wholesale Energy, Retail Energy Operations Manager, and others.
  • Own the Energy P&L, as well as setting and achieving stretch goals and key Energy metrics across the business.
  • Recruit and grow the Energy team to rapidly scale the Brighte Energy business.
  • Act as the public presence for the business. Driving key deals for the energy business alongside our Business Development team
  • Be a key member of Brighte’s Executive Leadership team, which includes reporting to the Board of Directors on the progress of the Energy business.
  • Who you are

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, ideally with minimum 5 years in the energy business
  • Experience as a leader (Founder, CEO, or a leadership team member running product, engineering, or marketing) in a technology startup or energy startup.
  • You’re an innovator, with deep experience with creating new technology to create unique offerings within a market. This beyond “working with IT” to implement standard solutions, this is deep understanding and experience with how technology teams can change markets.
  • You’ve driven scale quickly at a company while attracting the best talent in the market.
  • Curious, determined and collaborative, encouraging debate and transparency rather than a top down command-and-control leader.
  • Exceptional business acumen with a commercial awareness and insight to commercial drivers and relationships.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to make key decisions and communicate them broadly.
  • Very comfortable using online tools (like Slack, Confluence, Jira) as your primary method of communication and work.
  • Strong preference for experience with modern energy technologies using renewables, VPPs, DERs, EVs, etc.
