The Role
Atlassian is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Orchestration team

This team's mission is to make service ownership more efficient for all Atlassian’s Software Engineers.  

As a Principal Engineer, you'll help make other Atlassian developers more effective, by improving the deployment process of the internal Atlassian platform.

Deployment speed and safety will be your areas of focus, with the ability to have a large impact on the Atlassian’s PaaS.

You'll report to the Engineering Manager. You'll develop the technical roadmap for 3-5 engineering pods within your immediate group, whilst driving initiatives across multiple teams throughout the organization.

• Take ownership of the development of  the high-level technical architecture for multiple teams
• Work with your Engineering Manager and fellow Principal Engineers to create a vision and roadmap for the greater organization
• Build trusting relationships with stakeholders within your immediate team and across the organization
• Promote high-quality engineering standards within your team
• Support the growth of software engineers via technical mentorshipEncourage teams to inspire creativity, unlock
opportunities to create impactful technology for our users

Skills we like
•. A degree in a Computer Science related technical field
•. 2 years experience of technical leadership with cross team projects
• We love engineers that are language agnostic. Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, or Ruby is highly valued.
• Valuable knowledge in at least one technical topic/domainEnjoys being a mentor, helping members of your team grow
• Considering the customer impact when making technical decisions
