This Amberfication is led by our perfectly formed Technology Team and we are looking for an AWS Platform Engineer to join our winning team.

About the Opportunity :As the AWS Platform Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our cloud operations at OpenPay. This role will give you a unique opportunity to be involved in our current state (AWS) and contribute towards (and support) our future state cloud operating model (MS Azure).

You will have experience working in a similar environment and have a very service focused mindset. Historically, your adherence to continuous improvement and service excellence will have resulted many changes that have improved operational efficiencies, and effectiveness as well as the adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Ideally you will be ITIL certified and be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development in other relevant areas

What youll be doing:

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure including working with services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
  • Resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security and networking fundamentals
  • Continually assess and evaluate security controls to proactively recommend and implement changes that migrate risk
  • Troubleshoot the system and solve problems across all platform and application domains
  • Provide point of escalation to other departments and stakeholders as required.

What youll need:

  • Significant experience working as an AWS Engineer and managing AWS cloud within a medium size organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Business, and/or significant proven experience, relevant to this discipline
  • Experience with traditional operations management practises, governance frameworks and methodologies
  • A disciplined approach and passion to learn and develop new skills.
  • Desirable: Experience supporting DevOps best practices and establishing and managing CICD pipelines
  • Desirable: AWS certifications
