Your future team

We're looking for a Lead Researcher to help us gain insight into how we empower and multiply the impact of our engineering teams. Cloud Infrastructure serves internal customers through providing the tooling for all developers within Atlassian to build, test, deploy and run services and libraries in the most efficient way possible.
As the Lead Researcher, you will help design the research programme to inform the strategic direction of some important projects. You will also be a primary member of the cross-functional team responsible for creating the most effective and impactful processes for our engineering community.

What you'll do

  • Reporting into a Senior Research Manager, you will Implement a research strategy for ongoing insights flow for building excellence in employee experience.
  • Build the research practice in a newly formed team, establishing the processes and rituals .
  • Mentor junior researchers, and communicate the research best practices at Atlassian.
  • Help decision makers to make better informed decisions based on customer data.
  • Collaborate on the strategy to support a world class engineering organisation
  • Promote research and contribute to the development of an experienced research practice across our Cloud Infrastructure team.
  • Share insights across your team(s) in creative ways to help them understand the needs of our internal customers, inform design decisions and improve our internal processes.
  • Your background

  • You'll have experience conducting applied research within a variety of complex domains.
  • Experience within a B2B enterprise environment is desirable but not essential.
  • You may have a degree in psychology, anthropology, human computer interaction or related fields.
  • You are comfortable building rapport with and influencing senior leadership
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience executing research that has had an impact on the business outcomes.
  • Experience in different qualitative research methodologies and you know when to apply each method.
  • You can process and analyse research results to create relevant, tactical and strategic recommendations.
  • You can develop behavioural archetypes, personas and user goals.
  • You have a history of collaboration with experience design and product development.
