About your role
harrison.ai was founded with the mission to make healthcare accessible across the globe. With a vision to impact millions of lives a day, the timing is right for harrison.ai to set up the Harrison Foundation – which will bring our solutions and in-house expertise to where it is needed most in third world countries.
 
The Head of Harrison Foundation is responsible for working with the Co-Founders and Executive team to prepare the strategy for the Foundation and lead its execution. From creating the Foundation, to appointing the team, to leading its day-to-day activities.

The Head of Foundation will be responsible for setting up a foundation that operates on multiple levels, working within harrison.ai and related companies to support initiatives to increase healthcare quality and capacity in developing countries.
 
Some specific areas include:
• Driving Patient Access and Health Promotion through AI solutions
• Supporting Data and Research in Medical AI
• Supporting Education and Advocacy of Medical AI
• Driving Thought Leadership in development of Medical AI applications and the evolution of AI‘s role in Healthcare
 
The Harrison Foundation is the embodiment of our mission and values, and is a priority initiative within harrison.ai.

What you'll do:

  • Establish and propagate the of the Foundation, consistent with harrison.ai and our joint venture’s mission & values;
  • Work with the harrison.ai joint ventures and strategic partners to support their programs for giving back to the community and to advocate on their behalf;
  • Develop and execute the Foundation’s Strategy, aligned to the strategic priorities and direction of harrison.ai and its Joint Venture companies;
  • Prepare the strategy for setting up the Foundation, working closely with our Strategy and Finance teams;
  • Define and operationalise the optimal means by which to establish and run the Foundation, including legal structure, governance, registered non-profit purpose, jurisdictional reach, taxation structure, funding models, organisational structure;
  • Policy work with external agencies to drive policy change whilst fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation;
  • Oversee operational activities such as:
  • Program/project assessment, prioritisation, establishment and ongoing execution
  • Stakeholder management (internal and external)
  • Partnership management
  • Marketing and advocacy
  • As part of the strategy, determine the priority external relationships and partnerships at a local and global level to be established;
  • Once established, lead a team to drive the Foundation’s agenda and priorities;
  • Policy work with external agencies to drive policy change, including driving thought leadership and advocacy in Medical AI across industry and among relevant decision-makers that leads to a positive social impact; 
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and guidelines including those relating to information security. This encompasses:
  • Reading, understanding and complying with the policies and procedures that are relevant to your role within the Information Security Management System;
  • Report any activity considered likely to compromise an information asset to the security team as soon as it becomes known;
  • You are expected to take responsibility for developing an adequate level of information security awareness, education, and training to ensure the appropriate use of information assets; and
  • You must protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
  • What we're looking for:

  • Public Health, Healthcare or Medical related knowledge or experience;
  • Knowledge and experience of low-income, low-resource settings;
  • Experienced with charity inner workings and knowledge of not-for-profit environments;
  • Able to collaborate with diverse teams including senior internal and external stakeholders (boards, government agencies, and so on); and
  • Able to prepare strategy and policies, as well as present externally.
  • Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualifications and/or MBA;
  • Experience in setting up and running a Foundation;
  • Government or education sector related experience; and/or
  • Understanding of capital markets and sources of funding.

In 2021, harrison.ai announced a new partnership with Sonic Healthcare (ASX:SHL), a leader in medical diagnostics, to co-develop and commercialise new clinical AI solutions in pathology.
