The Opportunity
As one of Afterpay's SMB Account Associates, you will help drive Afterpay’s continual growth by building relationships with prospective SMB (small and medium-sized business) merchants via inbound leads. While there is a lot of room to learn and develop, we’re looking for a resilient multitasker, committed to providing a positive and efficient customer experience by getting on the phone and communicating with clarity and confidence. 

Lastly, and most importantly, we want you to be passionate about Afterpay and what we stand for, for both our merchants and customers. 

We are looking for five Account Associates for an initial six months to support the current and upcoming workload in the SMB team. There is so much happening at Afterpay and while we can't tell the future, there is a strong chance you will be able to convert to a permanent role during or at the end of the contract.

We are much more than our job descriptions, but here’s where you will begin…
- Own your merchants Afterpay experience:
From first contact - qualify and convert inbound leads
Set your merchants up for success in their first Afterpay transaction by following sales and onboarding processes
Grow your merchant accounts and relationships within their first 60 days, maximising yearly sales volumes and adding value to our merchant experience
- Manage, track, and report on all sales activities and results using Salesforce
- Seek out and implement Team Leader coaching, and collaborate with your team on best practice
- Manage your time  prioritising merchant experience e.g. when a phone call works better than an email
- Communicate effectively the value we offer to our SMB merchants, supporting OMNI channel expansion
- Outbound call warm leads and referrals, as well as some prospecting via cold calling to prospective new opportunities

- Your head will be abuzz with things we should be doing - managing your sales pipeline, interpreting data to support merchant conversations and meeting sales metrics and targets
- You are customer-centric and are comfortable with high volume interaction and systematic sales processes
- You may have experience using tools such as Salesforce or Aircall
- You may have previous retail or payments industry experience but this is not necessary
- You like to keep it real with your actions, be brave with your decisions, do the right thing for all our stakeholders and shape the future with excitement
