We are on the lookout for experienced Front End Engineer's to join our Product Engineering teams!

You will join our global Product team working on technically challenging problems to make business more beautiful for our accounting partners and small business customers. We have an ambitious three year roadmap to consolidate our applications into one cohesive experience and to achieve this, we’re hiring new teams.

What you'll do:

Work with your team to deliver beautiful software that is valuable to our customers. You will have a willingness to learn, offer your ideas and collaborate with others to produce work you are proud of

Help guide the engineering practices, identifying and resolving challenges to ensure processes and tools are optimised, and ensure engineers have the required knowledge and skills

Contribute to Xero's engineering and quality standards. Work closely with engineering leadership to apply standards and frameworks to software and delivery processes.

Proactively maintain, grow and share knowledge of technologies used in the development of Xero’s software applications.

Participate in interviews to help hire other engineers for Xero

Be a proactive champion of agile and delivery practices who coaches and develops others in this space in order to ensure a consistent approach to ways of working.

Recognise and solve for common patterns of failure in the team’s delivery practices, preventing future issues by improving skills, processes or tooling.

What you'll bring with you:

A collaborative approach to work, working with high levels of communication

Passion for shipping high quality, well tested software through automation, proven best practices and appropriate design patterns

Willingness to collaborate cross functionally with other roles.

In depth knowledge about a modern front end framework

Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) the technologies used in Xero: React, Typescript, state management tools (e.g. Redux, Redux sagas)

.NET ecosystem, CI/CD tooling, AWS would be a bonus

Ability to promote and design great front end architecture, good knowledge of tooling and patterns

A delivery mindset to actively help out in all areas of the stack to deliver customer value

A growth mindset to actively seek learning opportunities and strive for continuous improvement
