Your Challenge:

As a Senior UX Designer for hipages, your role will be to solve some really challenging problems, advocate for our customers and bring some design magic into our fast-paced, data-driven, collaborative and fun loving product team. This role is within our Partnerships team, who play a critical part in hipages’ vision and strategy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, tech-leads, engineering managers, engineers, data scientists and other designers to deliver experiences that create value for our customers, our partners  and our business.
  • Work with the wider hipages team including members of our service, sales and senior leadership teams to bring them on your design journeys, giving them a voice by facilitating their inclusion in the design process.
  • Communicate your ideas through research documents, sketches, journey maps, wireframes, screen flows, high-fidelity user interface designs and rapid prototypes.
  • Develop customer insights through research techniques such as interviews, user testing, workshops, contextual inquiries, surveys and data analysis.
  • Document your research and designs to tell the story of your design answering the why’s whilst providing the required assets and technical guidance for our engineers.
  • Work with product managers and engineers to test and ship continuously through experiments, and then measure the impact and success of our deliverables to help decide when to iterate, when to pivot and when to roll back.

You’re comfortable being a design leader who can bring others on their design journey and help foster a sense of shared ownership. You’re passionate about conducting research to learn everything you can about your customers’ behaviors, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create

You understand that it’s not all about delivering amazing products and are diligent when planning how those products will be serviced and supported by your internal customers. You’re familiar with service blueprints and understand go to market planning.

Your CV:

  • Minimum 5 years UX / product design / experience designing for web and mobile
  • You’re a senior UX designer who blends advanced problem-solving skills with a refined product sense and strong empathy for users
  • You have experience across the full spectrum of design activities from research design to post release optimisation
  • You’re adept at discovery techniques and are an expert in validating problems and potential solutions
  • You’re a natural collaborator. You have the communication skills to help set up inclusive collaboration frameworks and can help people productively brainstorm initial design concepts. 
  • Education in a related course, preferably undergraduate (or equivalent life experience).

Technical skills

  • Confident practitioner of user research design and execution including (but not limited to) usability testing, user interviews, surveying, focus groups and analytical analysis
  • Synthesis of insights from user research data
  • User experience and interaction design for responsive websites and mobile apps (iOS & Android)
  • Data analysis with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar. (Experience with Looker would be an advantage)
  • Proficient with Sketch, Figma or Adobe XD and other rapid prototyping tools 
  • Understanding of iOS, Android and web UI patterns
