Who is EstimateOne?

Put simply, we’re a SaaS company headquartered in Richmond whose ambition is to become the industry standard platform in the commercial construction industry. In the last year more than 40,000 organisations have used our platform to tender over 7,500 projects worth a total of $52 billion! We’re currently the market leaders in Australia & NZ, and as such we’re looking to quickly build on our growing team of 70 to do even more.

At EstimateOne, we believe that by looking after our whole ecosystem of users, and balancing the needs of our team, our shareholders and the industry, we can achieve our vision to become a global leader in construction technology; famous for the positive impact on the industry we serve. To do that we'll need to make sure we're unlocking value from what we've already built while also inventing new stuff. It's equal parts optimisation and innovation.

Our established startup vibe keeps things lively. We’ve come a long way in 12 years, and seeing what we’ve achieved in that time, get’s us pretty excited for the next 12. Nuts & Bolts is essential reading to anyone considering a career with us - a rundown on who we are, what we stand for, and where we are headed.

What's the role?

We’re on a growth journey, and we want you to help us shape that. We’re looking for a talented Product Manager to help achieve high engagement, increase conversion of free to paid customers in our portfolio, and reduce customer churn for our Supplier audience.

Our business spans three key audiences - subcontractors, builders and suppliers. This role would see you playing a pivotal role in the supplier audience product strategy - one of the newest and also fastest growing audiences in our portfolio.

This is the perfect role for a Product Manager who is keen to make an impact on the growth of an organisation, leading a product engineering team of talented developers and a designer to make measurable progress. Each PM works alongside a GM/Executive and a product coordination group. This includes things like sprint planning, monthly check ins and results against new value created for customers.

Working closely with the GM, and supported by Sales and Customer Experience teams, you will thrive in a cross functional, Agile team, and be responsible for developing the product roadmap, and managing a backlog of value creation for our thousands of supplier users.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be happy to spend regular time with customers, building empathy for their needs.
  • Be able to translate customer needs into problems we can solve, and a product roadmap that delivers commercial outcomes.
  • Care about the team and the rituals you use to deliver valuable product to our customers
  • Lead the team in the ideation, validation, development and delivery of new features, as well as maintaining a backlog of improvements
  • Be committed to continuous shipping of value to our customers through iterative small releases, embracing feedback and new insight as we go
  • Use data to support and drive product decisions - whether qualitative or quantitative
  • Be happy to collaborate with other functions like Marketing, Customer Experience and Sales to ensure all aspects of the customer experience are considered
  • Able to manage and define leading metrics so we have confidence the work we’re doing will lead to commercial success
  • Contribute to the ongoing health of the Product function at EstimateOne, engaging and learning from other PMs in our business

The ability to champion our values matters to us; we care about our team and you'll be joining a group of people who want each other to be happy and successful. If you’re a motivated, self-starter and user-orientated person with experience in growing a company and designing products in a construction technology space, we need you in our team.

What are the perks?

There’s more to working at EstimateOne than just creating game changing technology for the construction industry. We know that to reach the lofty goals we set ourselves we need to look after our team, our shareholders and the industry we serve.

We offer flexible working, parental leave, volunteer leave and 5 days of paid entrepreneurial leave each year, so your own side hustles can come to life.

Each year you’ll get $5k to put towards your own professional development, in any way that will help you grow your career. We also match NFP donations 2:1 - to name a few!

In your cover letter, we'd love you to respond to these three questions:

  • Our organisation goals are time bound to 2021, but we also need to look ahead and prepare for 2022, and beyond. How would you approach prioritisation of near term goals with long term value creation?
  • Our team primarily focuses on product, but as we develop new value, it’s commercial success hinges on how well we communicate it to the market. As a PM, how would you balance supporting Go-To-Market activities, against new value delivery?
  • We have an existing and established product in the market. How would you go about balancing creating new value, with improving the existing experience for customers?

That’s it from us, we can’t wait to hear from you.
